Remain grounded in change and ambiguity

- Change is everywhere. Technology is disrupting our workplaces and organizations are scrambling to keep up with the competition. Artificial intelligence will likely disrupt millions of jobs and yet create others we haven't even thought about yet. As change happens at an ever-increasing pace, our mind, which likes to be in control to feel safe, experiences a lot of stress. As we try to keep up, many of us feel we need to work longer hours or move faster down our to-do list, but most of us are already overwhelmed with the pace. When we don't feel in control, we can have stress-driven reactions to change. Sometimes we fight the change. Other times we disengage or avoid thinking about what's coming. Still, other times we freeze in confusion. Since change is inevitable, our challenge, my friends, is to evolve how we respond. We can do this by slowing down and being present to the change and to the uncomfortable emotions it can bring up in us. With mindfulness practice, we can learn to…
