Review the critical path
- The critical path, is the longest linked sequence of tasks in a project. Which means changes to the critical path also change the project finish date. Project makes it easy to see the critical path, so you can keep your project on time, or shorten the schedule. Here I have the Gantt chart view. Now in the timescale, I see all of my task bars, but how do I tell which tasks are on the critical path? What you do, is head to the Format tab. In the bar style section, turn on the checkbox Critical Tasks. When you do that, all of the tasks that are on the critical path now have red task bars. So it's easy to see which ones are critical. The other way is to add the Total Slack field to the table. I'm gonna right click the heading for Duration, and then on the shortcut menu, choose Insert Column. I want Total Slack.
