- [Instructor] The next step now is to add the OPC server to Ignition software, first, by adding the OPC server into Ignition Gateway. Go to Ignition Gateway by typing localhost:8088 on your browser. Then click on Sign in to Reset. And then you need to log in using the credentials you chose in chapter three. Click Reset Trial, and then go to the Configure tab and scroll down until you find the OPC Connections under OPC Client. Click on Create new OPC Connection. And here you have the option of adding both OPC UA or OPC-DA clients. For this project in this chapter, I will demonstrate the connection using OPC UA. Because OPC UA is a widely used industrial standard, and Ignition software in general supports connections to any number of OPC UA servers created by any manufacturer.
