- [Instructor] As engineers, we must always check our designs, but a thorough design check can take a long time. Capture provides a design rules check tool that helps us detect electrical and physical issues we may have overlooked. In our CAD-Capture project directory, make sure you select your design file, go to tools and choose design rules check. You may get a warning here but just go ahead and click yes. So we have a number of checks that DRC can look for and a scope who you want to check the entire design, use instances is preferred. Make sure you set the action to design rules check and create DRC markers for warnings. We want to run electrical rules and physical rules because our parts have footprints associated with them.
