Creating a custom field
- [Instructor] Custom fields allow you to further personalize your project and help you align with business procedures. You can use a custom field to map to an accounting system, change order process, an approval process even. Unlike a label, a custom field can contain different types of information such as dates versus text, and you can control the type of answer you get in a custom field. Whether that's a yes, no or an item from a dropdown list. So let me show you some examples. In our dog park project maybe we want to keep track of who is the approver on a task, and I can add a column and pick new field. You first decide what type of field do I want. Text is most flexible. It allows you to fill in numbers, letters or any combination, and you have a personal choice here. Watch what happens when I create this. Now I simply go into the cell for that specific task and fill in whatever it is I need. For example, now…
