From the course: Learning Microsoft Project for the Web (Planner Web App)

Before you begin

- [Instructor] There are a number of ways we'll be working through the course and examples we'll be using, that I want to introduce you to. First, Project for the Web requires a Microsoft 365 subscription and features available may be controlled by your organization. I'll be sure to remind you in videos when this could impact your feature availability. I will be covering Project for the Web using a web browser. You will find the features work the same even if your organization uses it in teams. For all demonstrations, I'm on a Windows machine with a mouse configured for right-handed use, and I'm also using the Edge browser, but it will work on almost any browser. This course does not cover project management methodology approaches, but feel free to search the LinkedIn Learning Library where you will find plenty of courses on the topic. The fictional scenario we're going to use for this course is centered around the company Wisdom Pet Medicine. The employees have discovered, through their customers, that many people adopt dogs when they learn their job could be a work at home job. Many are first time dog owners. Wisdom Pet Medicine has decided to sponsor a dog park to help owners socialize their dogs and to help the owners meet others who are still learning about raising a dog. Project for the Web is a project management tool focused on scheduling. Throughout the course, you may hear the terms 'project' or 'schedule', these terms are being used interchangeably to refer to the Dog Park Project. One final word about the course, if you're at all familiar with Microsoft and how rapidly they iterate and release new features, you will likely find a section that has been updated since the courses release. When this happens, you can search the internet or even check the Microsoft Project blog for all the latest and greatest. So let's start planning a dog park.
