Choosing a design program

Choosing a design program
- [Instructor] If I have a choice when designing for a T-shirt I'll always opt for Adobe Illustrator. Always. You can do it all in AI. Flexibility in editing is a huge win. Adobe Illustrator uses vectors, so I'm able to scale my artwork to any size for future orders. And it helps keep the amount of colors down, which will be less expensive to produce. I'll go for Photoshop when I want smooth gradients or if I know I'll be using a digital print method like DTG or image transfers. But even then I might start in Adobe Illustrator, because you can always export to raster if you need it.
