- [Instructor] Gartner, the popular IT research and advisory firm that's based in the United States, uses the term IT risk management market to categorize all the software tools available to support your work. These solutions will automate common workflows and store your records. This market is more commonly called the Governance, Risk, and Compliance tools, or GRC. Some products, like Archer by RSA, have been on the market for about 20 years, while other products, like OneTrust, have only entered the market recently. Some GRC tools are built on a software-as-a-service model, while others give you the option of installing software on your own servers. And of course, all the dedicated GRC tools compete with good old-fashioned spreadsheets, which is the tool that most people start with, and for good reason.
