How to conduct a screening interview
- An effective screening process can save you a lot of time and embarrassment. When you schedule an extensive interview for someone you're not going to hire or place, you're wasting precious time. Yours and theirs. And you've probably given the impression that you were going to place them in a job. The good news is that technology has greatly improved the screening process. Automated systems screen out resumes or CVs that don't contain relevant keywords. But just because a resume or CV makes it to your inbox, it doesn't mean that candidate is the best fit for your job. After the automated screening process, you need to conduct a phone screening interview to decide if the candidate should be scheduled for a more in-depth interview, or screened out.
