Use AI-powered coaching
- [Instructor] The AI-Powered Coaching feature is LinkedIn Learning's first Generative AI feature where learners can discover content and get coaching advice derived from the LinkedIn Learning Library. At the time of this recording, this feature is only available in English for Learning Hub subscribers. Now, in order to access it, I'm going to go over to the side navigation bar, and to this diamond shaped icon for AI Coaching. Now, this will bring me to my AI-Powered Coaching page. This is a really powerful tool that I think could help revolutionize professional development. It's a tool similar to ChatGPT, where you can ask it questions and it will respond. However, the answers it delivers are generated from the cumulative information in the LinkedIn Learning Library. Now, the answers it gives will be customized for you based on the information shown here. It will be based on your current role, the career goal that you've set, as well as any skills that you're following. So I think this has two main uses, and first, that's to ask it advice related to communication, collaboration and leadership, and then also to receive content recommendations from the library. I'm going to go ahead here and ask it a question. "How can I be a better manager?" I'm going to type in that, and I like its response. It says, "What specific challenges "are you facing as a manager?" So that's a good follow up question because my original question was pretty broad. So I'm going to say here, "I would like to be able to run more effective meetings." I enter, and this is the response I get. "What are some specific areas "you'd like to improve in your meetings?" For examples, what are you looking to improve? I could put here, "I want to make them more engaging." I'll type that in, and here it's now narrowed it down enough that it feels it can give me some good advice. Here it says, "One idea for making meetings more engaging "is to ask questions and encourage others to speak up. "This can help generate new ideas," et cetera, et cetera. Down below, it's then, for instance, if you're discussing a new project, so it gives me an example. It then says, "Could you share more about your current meeting structure? "Understanding this "would help me give more accurate advice." So it's even asking a follow up question here that if I put it in, it can narrow it down further and give me even better advice. Now, you'll notice something else at the bottom of this, that it says, "Learn more," and it's giving me some content recommendations from the LinkedIn Learning Library. It's saying, "Meeting Survival Tips," and I could go ahead and click on that and access that course, or, "Keeping It Engaging," which is another related course. So I could click here and watch that course as well. Now, I've been playing around with this feature a lot, and it provides some great advice, as well as some solid content recommendations. It is important to note, however, that it's in its early stages and still has some limitations. One of them is that it currently doesn't save previous conversations. Now, as the AI-Powered Coaching feature improves and continues to expand, I think it will become a go-to tool for any professional development questions that you have. If you have access to it, I recommend giving it a try. Ask it some questions related to your professional development and see what type of advice or recommendations that you receive.
