- The fourth stage of the Pivot Method is launch, which you can think about in two different ways. There's the big L launch, where the person makes a big transition, maybe changing roles, moving to another office, or even to another team. But in the context of a coaching conversation, the little L launch, is about wrapping up the session with clear next steps. When your team member leaves this conversation, what are they launching into? I recommend wrapping up career conversations by first asking them, what are one or two of your biggest ahas from today's conversation? By asking this question, it helps your team member pause, to take a step back and start to synthesize what just happened. Then I like to ask, what one or two next steps resonate most to take as action items from this conversation?
