- Asking for a promotion isn't easy for most of us. It makes us feel like we're asking our boss to validate that we're worthy or special or important, might make us feel vulnerable to rejection, as if we're looking for approval in addition to a new title or a raise in our salary, and if you're a millennial, this challenge is even more real. You see, employers hear horror stories about how impatient your generation is around promotion and advancement. Will you be asking for a promotion after a couple months on the job?
