- I've worked with a lot of clients over the past few years, and more times than not, those projects were won by a well written proposal. A proposal is a written document that gives a snapshot into the work you can do to help a client. Just about every client project starts with a proposal, even if it's informal. A well written proposal helps the client imagine exactly what the outcome of working with you will be. Let's talk about the pieces and structure of our proposal that can help you convince a client to start a project with you. I've created a template that you can use and follow along with in the exercise files. First, start with an overview of the project. This section is almost like a cover letter to the prospect that recaps what you've learned about their needs to this point.
