- [Instructor] In this video, we'll be looking at hypothesis test for proportions. We'll compare a sample proportion to an expected outcome. In this scenario, we'll investigate whether an upcoming election is still undecided based on a recent poll of likely voters. We will, of course, use Excel to perform our hypothesis test. But before we head over to Excel, let me show you a formula we'll utilize for this hypothesis test. Here's the formula for our z-score, which will be our test statistic. p hat is the sample proportion, p naught is the expected population proportion, and n is our sample size. As usual, don't worry, I'll show you this formula again in Excel when we need it. Okay, let's head over to Excel and conduct a hypothesis test. All right, so first let's go through our scenario.
