- [Instructor] If you're using Excel on a touch-enabled device such as a Microsoft Surface computer, you can use Excel's built-in drawing tools to mark up and draw directly on your spreadsheets. Start by selecting the Draw tab in the ribbon and select one of the drawing tools found here. You can then use your mouse to draw directly on the Excel file. If you have a device with a touch screen, you can also use your finger or a compatible digital pen to draw. Click any of the drawing tools to adjust the thickness and color settings. To stop drawing or to select or move your annotations, click the Select tool and then you can select your drawings to work with them.
