- [Instructor] In the previous movie we talked about the filter function and we compared it with the filter command. The same thing is true of a sort function, similar to the sort capability, the sort command found on the data tab, and there's also another function called sort by, and we might be using the same idea as we did with filter. We want to create a new list somewhere that's based upon another list, and whether it's adjacent to the source data or on a different worksheet or often a different part of this worksheet, it's relatively easy to set up. The list to the left is my master list, it's currently has been sorted by salary, but I want to have another list and I'll use it frequently, let's say I want to look up employee names and other information about them. I want an alphabetized list. So, equal sort. The list in question is from cells A2 over and down to E999. I'm not using a table here, so at times we might have to adjust the address.
