To certify or not to certify
- [Narrator] As people become more engaged with DevOps tools and services, they come across certifications. These certifications are credentials that attest to a certain level of mastery or understanding. As these credentials come to light, we often wonder, should I be getting a certification? With this question in mind, let's look at certification from a few different angles. First of all, there are so many certifications out there that it's easy to become overwhelmed, trying to figure out which ones could be most beneficial to your career. Cloud providers, operating systems and tool after tool after tool, all provide some sort of third party validation and skill or experience. To properly prepare for a certification you'll need to study, take training or classes, and also get experience. All of this will take time. And often certification requires you to pay for an exam.
