- So, start your journey by going on a fact-finding mission. Importantly, at this stage, assess the needs of your organization. It's easy to jump to providing solutions to DIB's issues, but it's really pointless unless you understand the problems your organization's facing. So make sure you have the data to define a need, and then create an answer for that need. But, first, what kind of data are you looking for? To start, look for internal demographic data. Check to see if the data for your organization are available on the intranet or internet. If not, HR should have access to all this information because they need it for their EEO reports. But if no one will give it to you, you can actually get the data yourself, especially if your organization's small. I literally mean just count the people and see what you have.
