What's FinOps?

- FinOps is a buzzword with many meanings depending on whom you talk to. We've heard it defined as everything from technology and tools to culture and communications, and even business processes, but it's bigger than any single one of those categories. FinOps is related to cloud financial management. It's a collection of operating models and technology that combine best practices with technology and culture that improve enterprise's ability to optimize cloud costs. IT, developers, finance, procurement, and others collaborate to find the most value from cloud computing technology. So why is FinOps important? Cost overruns are familiar to those who deploy cloud-based solutions. This results from needing a better understanding of what and how the cloud providers are billing for cloud services.
