- Now that you've completed some requirements, great. But how do you know what you've created meets the specifications? Is it what the customer or stakeholder wanted? There are two steps that confirm this, verification and validation. What these words mean to us might depend on your role. So it's important to know what verification is for PMs and what it is for BAs. As PMs, we understand that verification is making sure that the result meets the specification and it's usually done as part of the testing of deliverables. It's more of a quality assurance or beta testing thing. But as BAs understand verification, it's a bit of a different meaning. It's still about making sure you're delivering what's asked but it's framed differently and happens in a different way and at different times.
