- [Instructor] Securing access to your company's assets is a fundamental component of every startup cybersecurity program. In this video, I want to cover some specific tools and techniques for securing access. At the top of the list is requiring strong passwords for every user account. Strong passwords should be at least 12 characters long with a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, as well as a mix of numbers and special characters. They should also be difficult to guess. I promise you that if you are using passwords like "Winter2023!" that criminals are guessing those very same passwords when they target your users. You could use pass phrases instead of passwords. Something like "IWishPasswordsWouldJustGoAway42%" is stronger than "Winter2023!" and harder to guess.
