Open a website in Bluebeam Revu
- [Instructor] In this week's episode of Bluebeam Tips and Tricks, I want to introduce you to the WebTab feature in Bluebeam Revu. Think of this as a feature that many users may not be aware of, and I also think it's a feature that can be handy and help you save a little time when you're already working here in Bluebeam. So let's take a look. We're going to go up here to the top menu, and click on Window and choose WebTab. And just a simple feature that actually opens up a WebTab, Bluebeam's own browser here without you having to exit Bluebeam or minimize this and go into another program. So, when you open up a WebTab in Bluebeam, it of course goes straight to Bluebeam's website, but you can enter your website information up here in the top of the screen, and really go to any website that you want. So if you need to do some research on something as you're viewing a set of drawings, or maybe you want to go ahead and go to a maps website and type in the address of this website, see where it's located at, this is a quick and easy way to do it right here without leaving Bluebeam. Now, it'll also allow you, if there are hyperlinks on your construction drawings that are hyperlinks to websites, I've got one embedded here on this drawing, so if I click on LinkedIn Learning it opens a WebTab right here in Bluebeam, takes me right to our LinkedIn Learning website. So again, I think this is just a quick and easy feature to be able to use. Now let's look at one last thing before we wrap this up and that is the preferences in the WebTab feature, so if we go to Revu, and choose the Preferences menu. So you'll notice a minute ago when I clicked on the hyperlink on that construction drawing, it did open up a WebTab version of that website, as opposed to, say, opening Internet Explorer and showing me the website there. If you're clicking on those hyperlinks and your version of Bluebeam Revu is not working that way, just head on over here to Preferences, click on Window, choose WebTab, and here's where you can change those preferences. So if you see here that your Open PDF Hyperlinks and WebTabs is not selected, then go ahead and select that, and that way it doesn't dump you out of Bluebeam every time you click on a hyperlink. You also have the ability to click here to edit your web favorites, and enter your own homepage that opens up when you click on that window and WebTab feature, you can enter some favorites in there, export, import, and so on. So again, this is where you access all of those WebTab preferences. Alright, thanks for listening and join me again for another episode of Bluebeam Tips and Tricks.
