Copying a project - AutoCAD Electrical Tutorial
From the course: AutoCAD: Electrical Toolset
Copying a project
- We're staying in the demo 02.DWG file in our WD demo project. Now this particular project could be very useful for another project that we want to work on. So we want to copy this particular project but give it a different project folder, and also a different project; a WDB file and bring all the drawings across, so that we can reuse them in a new project. How do we do that? Well, the lovely thing about the AutoCAD electrical tool set, is it's very quick and easy to copy projects. There's just a certain workflow that you must follow, otherwise you won't be able to do it. So you'll notice we're in "demo02.DWG". We need to make sure that we save that file, so go up to save on the Quick Access toolbar, like so that's saved, and then close that particular file. Just close it there on the file tab. Now you'll notice that "WD demo" is still our current project in the project manager. I'm going to go up to "New" now here…
