An introduction to kanban
- [Instructor] Similar to both Waterfall and Lean, Kanban originated from the car manufacturer Toyota. Kanbans key mantra is that multitasking kills efficiency and it is a framework set up to minimize the amount of work in progress at any one time in order to minimize context switching with the belief that this will increase efficiency. In contrast with Scrum, the UX designer can hop back and forth between multiple user stories during a sprint since the mangle of Scrum is to get your user stories done by the end of the two weeks. In Kanban however, you are not allowed to hop back and forth between user stories. This is the way Kanban tries to minimize multitasking. So let's just keep in mind the key mantra for Kanban is that multitasking kills efficiency. So each individual should only work on one thing at a time until it's fully complete.
