The purpose of accounting ethics

- Trust, it's something that takes time to build, but only a moment to ruin. But accountants don't have to work for it. People trust us implicitly. This is called a public trust. Now, don't get me wrong, you need to be good at what you do. But professional trust is about living up to a set of standards and values established within your professional code of conduct. And this is why you're here. Hi, I'm Ajay Pangarkar and I'd like to welcome you to accounting ethics. I'm a fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants, a fellow of the Certified Management Accountants, an award-winning author, and a leading performance strategist. Together, we'll define what professional, ethical responsibility means for an accountant and discover how it applies to your role, your organization, and your obligations within a governance framework. Let's just say it's always professional to be aware of what it means to be ethical and to hold up that precious public trust. We have a lot to cover, so let's get started.
