If you came to my session. Deactivating the Scarcity Mindset yesterday during the Maryland Nonprofits #MANOAC24 conference you will know that our job is to release generational patterns and messages so that we can fully achieve our unique purpose. In the session, we discussed using our creativity and getting out of our own way. My challenge to anyone who sees this post is to write down every idea that comes to you over a 24 hour period. Grab a notebook and jot them all down. Once an idea is noted, in the corresponding column note how you feel about that idea. Are you sabotaging yourself with your thoughts? Are you immediately talking yourself out of the idea? Are you subconsciously telling yourself this can never happen? Or are you fully embracing the idea as message from your creative self as directional guidance? This will be super helpful to see what you do to support or discourage your brilliant ideas. We look forward to seeing you at Minority Enterprise Development Week (Med Week) 2024 2.0 - This year's Minority Enterprise Develoment Week 1st day of Activities will be held at the Town of Hempstead Pavilion of Wednesday, October 9th, 2024 at the Town of Hempstead Pavilion. The events that comprise MED Week are meant to raise awareness among minority business owners, and the larger business community and support these businesses in their efforts to grow to scale. All are welcome! The recognition and support provided by events like MED Week are essential to bolstering the growth and sustainability of small and medium sized businesses. Med Week features successful business owners of various sizes who have been able to scale their business, increase the efficiency of their businesses in various areas such as marketing, cutting cost, use of crms, management tools, applied techniques, increased revenue, and displayed how the use of various tools that have allowed them to share a clear and understandable path that other businesses can follow to lead to their own success. Charlotte is a city of unbelievable talent and smart leaders. I had the honor and pleasure to lead a workshop on personal branding for a room full of our city’s brightest corporate and community leaders who are in the 2024-2025 African American Leadership Academy of Charlotte last week. They are all doing fantastic things in their organizations and for Charlotte, so we focused on how to tell their story so that they could have greater impact and influence in their fields and with the people they serve. So why would people this amazing need a personal brand? 💡 82% of customers trust a company when their senior management members are active on social media. (Harvard & Edelman) 💡 65% of consumers say that a brand’s CEO and employees influence their decision to buy (Accenture) 💡 60% of consumers in the United States based their purchasing decisions on the company’s executives’ values, words, and actions (Accenture) Bottom Line… Executives with a strong personal brand increase the organization's bottom line and impact. And it was a bonus that I got to sit in on a few of the other sessions led by Harvey Gantt, Linda Lockman-Brooks, Angela H. Woods, JD MBA CMC, Keva Walton, and JT Saunders.
