This is an overdue post about Mike King and Melissa Murphy’s new Salesforce B2C Solution Architecture handbook. I remember reading Mike’s edition of this book several years ago when we were colleagues at Slalom; he put his heart and soul into the first version and I’m thrilled that 1) he did it again and 2) that the 2nd edition has a new section focused on Data Cloud penned by Melissa. Some key highlights. ☑️ 400+ pages covering many different products, leading practices, and considerations for designing and delivering well-architected solutions ☑️ Section 5 - “Know Your Customer with Data Cloud” provides some great callouts across 30+ pages that are dedicated to data cloud  ☑️ Some great specific callouts on using formula fields during ingestion vs. transforms (batch and/or streaming) to be mindful of the different ways you can achieve similar results ☑️ There are even questions at the end of the section to test your knowledge Whether you’re reading all of it, or specific sections that are relevant to you, I believe there’s valuable information in here for everyone. The Washington release of ServiceNow brought a powerful new feature to Flow Designer: Try Flow Logic. This innovative addition allows you to build more robust and user-friendly flows by gracefully handling potential errors. Enhanced Flow Stability By isolating error-prone actions within the "Try" block, the flow continues to execute even if an error occurs. This prevents the entire flow from crashing and ensures critical processes keep moving. Real-World Use Case: Imagine a flow designed to send an email to Manager of an end user. However, there is a possibility that email field is empty or in incorrect format and that is how it would have been set in LDAP. This will lead to flow failing abruptly. However, if you define the 'Send Email' or 'Send Notification' action inside TRY flow logic, we can trigger alternative actions such as: Sending an email notification to ServiceNow Admin team for investigation, You can inform end user that your manager is not set properly in ServiceNow and contact the Service Desk team and so on. If you are on Xanadu Patch 3 and stuck resolving dependencies trying to install the new ServiceNow Studio application, you may need to head to the store to Opt-In to the ServiceNow Studio Product suite. https://lnkd.in/g9kVqZET Once Opt'ed In, initiate a store sync from the Application Manager page in the instance (must be on Xanadu Patch 3+), then the ServiceNow Studio product suite and application can be installed by an admin. Things to know - You must sign into the store with your Company ServiceNow SSO ID - Clicking the Opt-in button opts your Company in, not just your account. - The apps will not be automatically installed on instances after opting in; the included apps will become available to install/update after the next store sync. - An admin manages each instance's installs from the Application Manager page inside the instance. - This doesn't apply to PDIs #servicenowstudio #smartcarleen #servicenowdeveloper #xanadu

Today I learned great insights by attending Pegasystems Goldman Sachs Communacopia Technology Conference talk. Here are my notes/key takeaways especially on PEGA BLUEPRINT and Business from the talk and wonderful insights by Ken Stillwell. Thank you very much for a great conversation. On Business and PEGA Strategy to FCF: 1. Valuing a business is the amount of free cash flow, the consistency of the free cash flow, and growth of the Free Cash Flow. 2. Leading indicator to drive expanded cash flow for Pega is the amounts of billings with clients = ACV 3. Billing Growth -> Cash generated by Business -> FCF 4. Margins approaching 80% 5. Focused on rule 40, balance of growth and margin How: Idea is to move clients to PEGA CLOUD Problem: Legacy Applications First Step is Help client to be on Latest Version of Pega or 1 or 2 versions back. Modernization of Pega Applications. On GenAI and PEGA BLUEPRINT: What does it mean? Less Jobs? or More Work? or More Sophisticated Systems? For Pega, approach is Go right at the problem. "Use GenAI to leverage the library of best practices that have, to be able to show clients in a very simple way how they can envision the future state of their legacy applications and quick start them to actual production ready application." "Accelerate Faster" My takeaway is Pega wants to convert digital transformations that wouldn't have otherwise happened". To be best in class, We need to use GenAI to solving the biggest problems, enterprise scale, digital transformation, and moving to cloud. the biggest value proposition Pega is targeting with GenAI and BLUEPRINT is :Take all the knowledge that you have inside your environments and use that to improve customer experience." I wanted to share a personal experience. Our company EvonSys encourages us to be innovative through yearly hackathons. In the recently concluded hackathon, our team developed a Loyalty Product for Enterprises that can be utilized in various use cases and customer journeys. During brainstorming, I encouraged our team members to develop this loyalty product using a blueprint. We went through several iterations to finalize the application. The process of developing a product through a blueprint is amazing. When we incorporate ideation and design thinking principles, the outcome is extraordinary.
