The New Jersey Compensation Rating and Inspection Bureau has approved a 6.9% average statewide rate decrease for workers' compensation and employers' liability insurance. 📅 Effective Date: New and renewal policies will reflect these changes starting January 1, 2025. 🏥 Updated Benefits: Maximum Weekly Benefit: Raised to $1,159 (from $1,131) Minimum Weekly Benefit: Increased to $309 (from $302) This rate decrease aims to help New Jersey businesses manage costs while ensuring enhanced benefits for employees.

Attention CT Employers... As was announced in May, the Connecticut Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) program has some changes effective October 1st that employers need to be aware of. These changes include: -- An expansion of the rights of sexual assault victims by allowing the victims to receive PFML benefits to seek care or participate in the criminal justice process, -- Victims are eligible to receive PFML compensation at the same time as compensation from the state’s victim compensation program, up to the employee’s regular rate of compensation on a combined basis, -- The law requires employers with at least three employees to provide up to 12 days of annual leave for specified purposes related to family violence or sexual assault, and -- The changes also include requiring all employers that pay wages to register with the Connecticut Paid Leave Authority and submit required reports. More states are starting to pass salary transparency. Massachusetts just became the 11th state make the list. Starting July 31, 2025, Massachusetts employers (either public or private sector) with 25+ employees will be required to disclose salary range information on job postings and provide certain pay range information to current employees. The newly passed law, also imposed a pay data reporting to the state provision. Employers with at least 100 employees who are subject to either EEO-1, EEO-3, EEO-4, or EEO-5 reporting requirements will now need to file a wage data report with the state. Although the July 2025 is quite a ways away, employers are encouraged to start a strategy to ensure compliance with the new requirements. Do you have pay ranges for each position?
