Wanted to take a moment to post this here… Bootstrapping a tech start up (Tehl) is hard work. Luckily I have friends like Joe Alfaro to help keep things from crashing and burning ha. Generating revenue is going to be key, so my current plan is to leverage my own abilities to take on “premium clients” and offering social media content creation as apart of the package. This will do a couple things.. 1. Increases revenue. 2. Gives me the ability to market tehl on their channels the way I think would be best. 3. INCREASES REVENUE Beautifully thing is, I could be very wrong here but I like the odds… and I don’t need to take on VC money too quick if this works. Here’s to a long and fun road ahead 🥂

Ninja just launched the "SLUSHi." At $300 for a niche product–let's face it, I'm not making frozen drinks on the regular, as much as I wish I was–launching in the fall, this seems like a tough sell. But their launch crushed it, nearly selling out and bringing in $293k in the first 30 days. Brian Blum wrote an amazing twitter thread on this (link in comments) that I'd recommend checking out. He points out 3 main lessons we can take away: 1) Testimonial + Review Content 2) Do what the platform rewards 3) Introduce scarcity We can apply those same insights to B2B software... 1) Leverage more testimonials. I'm not talking about boring case studies that say "We love working with ACME Corp." Instead use tactical content that shows how your power users apply your solution to their regular workflow: try boosting a Loom video showing how one of your champion customers uses your product to drive their KPIs. Low-production, low lift, but exactly what your prospects want to see. Reverse engineer from your value prop: if your platform helps them close more deals, make sure that the thesis of your client's testimonial is "this is exactly how we used ACME to close more deals. 2) Do what the platform rewards. This one is simple...everyone knows LinkedIn's algorithm is loving short form video right now and TikTok is pumping live shopping. Do what the platform wants and the platform will put your content higher in the feed. 3) Introduce scarcity: harder with software than a physical product, but get creative. Are you launching a new feature? Limit the beta to a cohort of new users. Limited discounts can work, but you actually have to mean it. Generating FOMO isn't just for physical products.
