Hello friends and former colleagues – Would you be interested in connecting College of William & Mary Computer Science group with your engineering and/ or cyber teams? Many of you are familiar with this great local school and its success. Most likely you would think of them as a liberal arts college and it might come as a surprise that this year they celebrated the 40th anniversary of their first BS degree in Computer Science and the 36th anniversary of their first PhD degree. Nationally, the WSJ ranked William & Mary for two years in the row as the 16th highest salaries in tech among all public institutions in the country. Great success for a ‘non-tech’ college, I am sure you will agree. Their Computer Science organization has two specializations: one in cybersecurity and one in AI/machine learning, in addition to the generic CS degree. Would you mind connecting me/ their Chair of CS to someone in your (even past) organization so we can explore partnerships options? Options might be anywhere from summer internships to lunch-and-learn about your company to sharing some real-life challenges that W&M students could solve for you and learn in the process. Just a couple of months ago, their cyber team won the first place in Cyber CTF event, even though some ‘traditional’ tech companies also participated.
