Good points for thought. Given that GPUs are 80% of the AI cluster cost, 20% utilization leads to huge waste of power. ROI on a AI cluster may be tough for most unless there clear use cases that are connected to value delivery and monetization. It is a good point on the checklist though

Excited to share that I recently attended the Akamai Connected Cloud Summit on September 25th. It was a fantastic event packed with insightful discussions and future-forward ideas. Here are a few sessions that stood out for me: "Quantum-Safe Algorithms: Protecting Your Data in the Quantum Era" by Sameer Mehta (Jio) A thought-provoking session! While many organizations are still navigating traditional encryption (in transit and at rest), Sameer’s talk provided a glimpse into the near future—how to safeguard data against quantum computing threats. The reality that quantum computers may soon challenge RSA 2048 encryption is a serious wake-up call. "Building in the Cloud: The Shift to Edge Native" by Jay Jenkins (Akamai) We’ve gotten comfortable with cloud-native architectures, but Jay highlighted the growing relevance of edge-native applications. As businesses move toward real-time, low-latency applications, building at the edge might be the future of innovation. "Game Changers: Lessons in Leadership from the World of Cricket" by Harsha Bhogle This was an inspiring and fun session on leadership, with lessons drawn from cricket. Harsha’s insights, particularly from his book The Winning Way, provided great examples of how sports leadership can apply to business. There were also excellent talks on topics like API security and Zero Trust. Had a chat about a #WebRTC interface the other day A few things that came up: 💡 WebRTC is great, but complicated for the uninitiated 💡 As an interface, you want to reduce friction 💡 Better to introduce an SDK of sorts to simplify things 💡 Bcoz keeping things at the WebRTC level assumes expert level knowledge When offering a realtime interface, you may well need WebRTC The question becomes what should be the developer/client-facing interface itself

Had a meeting recently about #WebRTC stress testing Obviously, I did a demo of @testRTC (great tool if you ask me 😉) The person on the other hand mentioned looking at pricing of competitors. I asked which competitors. The answer was an amalgamation of generic browser testing vendors None of them does WebRTC No matter what you decide to do - comparing generic browser testing to testRTC is like going shopping for an engine versus a car… If you are going to use generic browser testing, be sure to cover all your bases: 🧩 Validate machine sizes and CPU cores you get allocated 🧩 Check network configuration (you need UDP to work well and not force TURN relays) 🧩 Somehow collect WebRTC statistics on your own (so you’ll know what’s going on) 🧩 Decide how you’re going to decide if a test passed or failed In a way, you’re buying in to a set of lego bricks without any instruction manual instead of just buying a prebuilt kit - it is fun, but time consuming (not sure you have that much free time) Looking to test WebRTC properly? *Ducks Now Sitting (DNS): Internet Infrastructure Insecurity* These are the first line of the research made by Infoblox and Eclypsium who discovered this issue. DNS (Domain Name System) is filled with sitting ducks (Ducks Now Sitting) for domain name hijacking. Multiple threat actors have been exploiting this attack vector which we are calling Sitting Ducks since at least 2019 to perform malware delivery, phishing, brand impersonation, and data exfiltration.
