Great to see this announcement from Verizon driving the RU ECO System. At FYUZ we spoke about the missing scale deployment of multi vendor RU's in the RAN market today. If we park the big picture/long term benefits of enabling the ECO system, I really like the DAS market as the leading usecase. The indoor/enterprise DAS market has always been a challenge - bring in smaller (relatively speaking!) companies with big focus on this part of the segment or go with the bigger/more experienced players who's products are typically optimized for Macro Cell. This approach enables Verizon (and it's customers!) to realize the benefits of both worlds!

Congratulations to the Intel quantum research team on another major silicon spin qubit technology advancement. Today, the prestigious Nature Journal published a paper outlining a novel process for collecting data on the performance of silicon spin qubit devices across an entire 300mm wafer. The approach allows the team to measure stats on qubits to help inform future research and solidifies Intel's approach to silicon quantum technology based on transistor manufacturing. Check it out! In a recent interview with EMSNOW , Oshri Cohen, the CEO of Cybord, talked about the company's AI-based solution for identifying non-conforming electronic components during product assembly. Oshri emphasized the increasing use of AI in the EMS industry and the growing awareness of material quality issues. He also addressed the challenges of traceability and the importance of enforcing approved vendor lists (AVL) and country of origin restrictions in real-time. #DisruptiveTech 🟠 The India semiconductor industry is poised to experience substantial growth, but only if the country expands its chip manufacturing capabilities. At a preview event for the inaugural SEMICON India 2024, SEMI CEO Ajit Manocha will advocate the necessity for 10 to 20 new semiconductor fabs in India over the next decade to address the increasing demand. India’s first-ever SEMICON conference will occur in the Delhi-NCR region from September 11 to 13, 2024, marking a significant milestone for the nation’s growing semiconductor industry. The event will feature over 250 semiconductor companies across more than 650 booths. It is being organised by SEMI, a US-based association promoting the chip industry, in partnership with various stakeholders, including the country’s Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology. Manocha’s call for expansion coincides with increased interest in India’s semiconductor potential. Recent developments underscore this trend such as Micron Technology’s proposed US$825 million investment in a semiconductor assembly and testing facility in Gujarat, and the Tata Group’s authorised projects for fab factories in Dholera and Assam. The SEMI CEO cited the establishment of Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) and Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging (ATMP) facilities in India as positive indicators of progress. Today, Larsen & Toubro announced plans to invest more than $300 million to create a chip company, joining other Indian conglomerates in a push to build out a semiconductor industry in the world’s most populous country. The tech-to-construction company will spend the money over three years to establish a fabless chipmaker, which designs and sells semiconductors but contracts out their production. It plans to design 15 products by the end of this year and start sales in 2027, Sandeep Kumar, head of L&T Semiconductor Technologies, said in an interview. Meanwhile, India is taking steady steps to boost its semiconductor ecosystem. The US Department of State recently partnered with India’s Semiconductor Mission to explore opportunities for expanding and diversifying the semiconductor sector, ANI reported. This comes days after India signed a semiconductor ecosystem partnership with Singapore during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit last week. The recent announcement by the US also has significance. PM Modi is expected to travel to Washington on Sep 21-24 to attend the Quad leaders’ summit- The Summit of the Future along with a diaspora event.
