Why is cross functional enablement critical to scaling Cloud GTM? Kate K., Sr. Director, Global AWS Alliance at #JFrog shared her insights on Cloud GTM Leader course hosted by Roman Kirsanov Post 1 of 2 Why Enablement is Important: 🔸 Successful cloud GTM requires balancing strategic planning and execution daily. It involves: building a co-sell strategy; collaborating on a co-build roadmap; scaling a cloud program; and collaborating on co-marketing - all while managing daily tasks. 🔸 Enablement is critical for success. It empowers teams to understand the cloud strategy, benefits of working with cloud providers, and how alliance teams help achieve company objectives. It explains the "why" behind actions, showing their contributions to customer success and company's goals. 🔸 External enablement is also crucial. It involves continuously engaging cloud provider teams about the company's unique value prop to gain priority and unlock benefits. 🔸 Effective enablement scales efforts and achieves company KPIs. Which Teams Need to Be Enabled: 🔹 Gaining executive support is crucial, but enabling other teams is equally important. Help them understand the cloud strategy's purpose and impact on their work, customers, and company success.  🔹 Teams include Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, Solution Engineering, RevOps, Legal, SalesOps, Strategy and Channel. 🔹 Each team plays a significant role in cloud GTM strategy. Recognizing and leveraging this interconnectedness is key. A holistic enablement approach ensures all stakeholders are aligned and supportive. 🔹 Finance helps understand the impact of marketplace sales and cloud GTM on top-line and bottom-line metrics. Work with finance to analyze deal sizes, cost efficiencies, sales process speed, and financial impact. Aligning with finance strengthens executive support and drives success. 🔹 Product is essential for co-build strategies. Enabling this team integrates cloud capabilities effectively into the company's offerings and scales the company. 🔹 Marketing is deeply connected to cloud alliances’ success. Effective collaboration enhances brand awareness, drives revenue, and reduces customer acquisition costs. 🔹 Continuous seller enablement helps meet or exceed quotas. Ensure enablement is relevant and motivating for sellers. 🔹 Regular analysis and data-driven insights are vital for RevOps and SalesOps teams to understand marketplace strategies effectiveness compared to direct sales. This includes monitoring deal volume, size, cost efficiencies, and customer retention. In conclusion, effective enablement is vital for a successful cloud GTM strategy. Empowering internal and external teams with the knowledge and tools they need, aligns stakeholders, drives customer success, and achieves business objectives. Recognizing interconnected roles and maintaining continuous, relevant enablement ensures a holistic approach that supports and scales cloud initiatives.

As a Board Director and consultant to executives, I have the opportunity to work with leaders who want to drive a change in company culture often to fuel new business growth. Culture is truly about saying what you do and doing what you say. You must set example as the leader and reward examples of the new culture, so employees understand what the new behaviors look like. Finally, never forget your hidden business partner in Marketing and Communications as communication in many formats will significantly help create the change you want as a leader and grow your business.

Re-reading "The Bezos Blueprint" by Carmine Gallo page 17, references Bezos commencement speech to the 2010 Princeton Class. "What I want to talk to you about today is the difference between gifts and choices. Cleverness is a gift; kindness is a choice. Gifts are easy -- they're given after all. Choices can be hard. In the end, we are our choices." "Six years after his speech at Princeton, Bezos revisited the theme in taking pride in your choices, not your gifts. "This is something that's super important for young people to understand, and for parents to preach to young people. It's really easy for a talented young person to take pride in their gifts. 'I'm really athletic,' or 'I'm really smart,', or 'I'm really good at math.' That's fine. You should celebrate your gifts. You should be happy. But you can't be proud of them.
