In organizational scholarship, the infusion of spirituality into corporate culture has emerged as a transformative force that significantly influences employee well-being, work engagement, and operational efficiency, ushering in a new era of workplace harmony. However, amidst this evolution, the Indian banking industry remains relatively unchartered. This study embarks on a pioneering journey, exploring the intricate interplay between workplace spirituality and spiritual fulfillment within this dynamic sector and discerning differences between public and private sector employees. Prioritizing high-impact decisions ensures that your energy is directed toward areas that will significantly affect your organization. Create a list of tasks and rank them based on their importance and urgency, tackling the most critical ones first. Awareness of self and others through #Mindfulness: Incorporate mindfulness practices to maintain clarity and reduce stress. Mindfulness helps you stay present and focused and puts people and situations into perspective, which can significantly reduce the mental clutter that leads to decision fatigue. Simple practices such as deep breathing, meditation, or even a short walk can help clear your mind and recharge your mental batteries. Other techniques like engaging the 5 senses and Heart and brain coherence breathing greatly have served my cohorts and clients. Mindfulness also improves emotional regulation, helping you respond to challenges with a calm and clear mind. Reflecting on your decision-making habits can provide valuable insights into how you manage your mental resources. Consider setting aside time each week to review your decision-making processes and identify areas where you can improve. This reflection can help you develop more efficient strategies and prevent burnout. It is great to see our research with Climate Change Coaches (B-Corp) on 'Holding back climate progress - sustainability's critical skills gap' featured in #India #HR community press BW People.in. (See the report link in the comment below). There is much to share in understanding skills priorities for education, industry and policy-making. I have been fortunate to have started such discussions with esteemed scholars from India - Divya Singhal, Sreerupa Sengupta of Goa Institute of Management (GIM) and Dr. Nimmi P Mohandas of Amrita School of Business - Coimbatore. Sharing global perspectives on skills needs and initiatives ensures students are better prepared for the workforce. I have learned much about the projects offered in these two very different states in Southern India that are at the forefront of #climatechange impacts. This includes a focus on #inclusive skilling from our discussions, ensuring that diverse and marginalised communities have equal access to education and training as part of a #fair and #just #greentransition. This extends to diverse #neurodivergent and #LGBTQ+ projects in enabling #equity, #inclusion and #belonging in #greentalent. Cultivating #SoftSkills such as communication, engagement and influence are essential in a contemporary workforce, which is a call to action for educational providers and industry to look beyond technical expertise and develop integrated approaches to #talent development. At Oxford Brookes Business School, in collaboration with PRME UK & Ireland Chapter, we are actively developing such approaches through the Interest Group on 'Employability, Sustainability and Jobs of the Future'.
