You’re leading a team through a period of change. How can you ensure they stay motivated and engaged?
Setting milestones no longer than 4-8 weeks apart and holding formal Stakeholder Reviews to track progress, mitigate risks or pivot are key. From these reviews, craft communication to those affected with updates on progress with a feedback loop.

What role does leadership play in aligning culture change with your organization's strategy?
Within a culture change initiative, Leadership plays a pivotal role in aligning it with an organization's strategy. Without leadership support, a culture change is destined to fail. The conduct of leaders within the organization and in their interactions shapes our core values—either reinforcing or diminishing them. To underscore the significance of leadership endorsement for any change, I often turn to a quote by John C. Maxwell: "Everything rises and falls on leadership." He goes on to say “I am going to say that again because I’m afraid you heard MOST things. I said EVERYTHING rises and falls on leadership.” I have not found any better way to underscore the paramount role of leadership in driving successful change initiatives.

How can collaboration help change management professionals manage stakeholder expectations?
Collaboration requires accountability throughout the change process. Identifying the accountable party for each element within the overarching vision streamlines communication, clarifies responsibilities & outcomes, offers clarity on risks, and fosters open dialogue. Accountability requires clarity, purpose and direction. For collaboration to succeed, there must be a clearly defined goal that establishes the purpose and direction for the collaboration. Individuals and teams need to know where True North resides in order to collaborate on a path to get to it. Accountability defines the single source of truth for milestones on that path to True North. The outcome of pairing collaboration with accountability is a smoother transition.

How can you maintain productivity during a period of change?
Leaders must be adept at guiding individuals from instinctive emotional limbic responses to prefrontal cortex rationality through empathetic planning & cultivating a culture of resilience. Tailoring a clear 'Why'—clarifying purpose, urgency, and personal relevance—to those affected enables a smoother transition. Resilient leaders are critical to individuals in transition - they lead by example, model adaptability and emotional management within a supportive environment. Resilient leaders frame change as growth. They cultivate a culture that values flexibility, innovation, and resilience. Through resilience, leaders guide teams to channel emotions productively, fostering trust in adaptation.
