Epoxy-Nanoceramic Composites for 5G Antennas https://lnkd.in/d2ZMhh6K Abstract Epoxy–nanoceramic composites of BiVO4 (BVO), LaNbO4 (LNO), and Li6Mg7Ti3O16 (LMT) were prepared using the solvent mixing method. The ceramic nano-fillers volume fractions were (5, 8, 10, and 12%). X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) were used to investigate the crystal structure and size distribution of nanoceramics, respectively. The dielectric constant and loss tangent were measured in the frequency range of (4-8) GHz. The measurement technique was the waveguide approach via a Vector Network analyzer (VNA). The effect of the volume fraction of ceramic fillers on the dielectric constant and loss tangent of the composites at 5.28 GHz (5G) was investigated. This work aims to design composite materials for 5G antennas of lower cost while maintaining the properties of 5G antennas. The results show that an optimum volume fraction of the ceramic filler brings the dielectric properties to their best value. However, epoxy composite with a 5% volume fraction of LMT shows good microwave dielectric properties (dielectric constant = 2.17 and loss tangent = 0.011) at 5.28 GHz. In addition, epoxy- LMT composite with an exceptionally low volume fraction of 5% provides a low-cost material for a 5G antenna. Another aspect of the cost reduction is the elimination of the costly and troublesome compaction and high-temperature sintering process. Furthermore, the epoxy composite overcomes the disadvantages of the high brittleness of the sintered all-ceramic products. As a result, epoxy composite with the 5% volume fraction of LMT is a potential candidate for 5G antenna materials. ****XPS Metrology - Pass Energy Limit for your XPS system? XPS instruments are used to measure Chemical State Spectra and also Survey Spectra. Survey Spectra are used to detect what elements are present in the top 1-12 nm. We like to generate Atom% from survey spectra and to detect trace levels of contaminant elements. The Pass Energy (PE) on XPS instruments can be adjusted from a very small pass energy (e.g. 5 eV) up to a large Pass Energy. When we use a large pass energy the instrument changes voltages on the Hemi-spherical Analyzer (HSA) to collect more electrons that have a larger BE range. When the system uses a too large PE for survey spectra, you will see much broader peaks and some doublets overlap. Even though you expected stronger peak signals you may get the same intensity at the lower PE. Every instrument has an upper limit for PE that produce useful and reliable survey spectra. An instrument that I used in the past allowed me to use a 300 eV Pass Energy but the survey spectra looked strange - Fat and not enough data points! The largest "reliable" PE that is useful for that instrument was 200-220 eV. You need to test your XPS system to learn what is the maximum Pass Energy that gives useful reliable survey spectra. Various factors affecting the fatigue performance of natural fiber-reinforced polymer composites: a systematic review Sumit Bhowmik, Santosh Kumar, Dr. Vijay Kumar Mahakur Review Abstract Due to rising environmental concerns, the reinforcement of natural fiber with polymer matrix to develop composite materials is gaining popularity in many sectors in the last few years due to greater availability, sustainability, environmental friendliness, and biodegradability. The composite materials used for various engineering sectors have mainly failed due to fatigue. So, it has become a necessity to understand the fatigue behavior and fatigue properties of the natural fiber polymer composites (NFPCs). Basically, the fatigue properties of any composite material are dependent on various factors such as loading condition, stress concentration, and physical, mechanical, and wear performances. Therefore, this review article deals with the fatigue performance of plant-based NFPCs and various factors that influence fatigue performance such as moisture absorption, chemical treatment, hybridization, different orientation, and mode of testing parameters. The article also focused on analyzing the mode of damage during fatigue failure with morphological analysis. Optical Penetration and “Fingerprinting” Analysis of Automotive Optical Liquid Silicone Components Based onWavelet Analysis andMultiple Recognizable Performance Evaluation Abstract: The residual stress phenomenon in the injection process of an optical lens affects the quality of optical components, and the refractive error caused by geometric errors is the most serious, followed by the degradation of the accuracy and function of optical components. It is very important to ensure that the lens geometry remains intact and the refractive index is low. Therefore, a parameter design method for an optical liquid silicon injection molding was proposed in this study. Wavelet analysis was applied to the noise reduction and feature extraction of the cavity pressure/pressure retaining curve of the injection molding machine, and multiple identifiable performance evaluation methods were used to identify and optimize the parameters of the molding process. Taking an automotive LED lens as an example, Moldex3D simulation software was used to simulate the molding of an LED lens made of LSR material, and two key injection molding factors, melt temperature and V/P switching point, were analyzed and optimized. In this paper, the transmittance and volume shrinkage of LED lenses are taken as quality indexes, and parameters are optimized by setting different V/P switching points and melt temperature schemes. The experimental results show that the residual stress is negatively correlated with transmittance, and the higher the residual stress, the lower the transmittance. Under the optimum process parameters generated by this method, the residual stress of plastic parts is significantly optimized, and the optimization rate is above 15%. In addition, when the V/P switching point is 98 and the melt temperature is 30 C, the product quality is the best, the volume shrinkage rate is the smallest, and the size is 2.895%, which also means that the carbon emissions are the lowest.

An often overlooked fact: Many Silicon-Carbon Anode Materials may have a high gravimetric capacity (mAh per gram) but have low volumetric capacity (mAh per cc), because of the Si-C particles' low density (low gram per cc because of internal pore volume) and high inactive material content (inactive carbon and silicon carbide). In addition, most mesoporous hard carbon particles cannot be calendared to the required anode electrode density for high energy density EV cells (typically 1.7 g per cc). This article reviews the required densification of anode electrodes necessary to achieve EV cells with high energy density. Notably, one of the authors is Prof. Hong Li, one of the world's pioneer and expert in silicon anode for two and half decades. #evbaateries #silicon
