We've got a killer sales team across media (Jennifer Watson Laws, Christi Lingard, Samantha Stein, Bryan Cink), data licensing (Mike Atwell), Altos SAAS (Jeff Graves 😎, Amanda Luzsicza), and HW+ (Caroline Abad). One thing I appreciate about them is speed to lead. We're following up on leads in most cases within 5 minutes. But like most growing companies, we need more leads! We've invested in a custom Salesforce integration, have the leads flowing nicely from our HubSpot email platform, have everyone on LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and recently started testing Apollo.io. How have sales leaders integrated BDRs into businesses with multiple products and sales teams? Are there lead generation platforms in B2B that my peers have had success with? My DMs are open, what are we missing?

Excellent event last night on the subject of Demystifying AI with a stellar line-up of speakers sharing the realities of AI at their companies. 5 things I took from the wide-ranging conversation: CEOs and boards are clamoring for AI. The biggest mismatches in expectations are (a) the speed at which actual value can be delivered, and (b) knowing what they actually want (i.e. what does success look like). Open, honest and constructive conversations need to be had in order to deliver useful results There are no shortcuts. You can't get away from needing to sort out the fundamentals of getting your data sorted out, having governance in place, data stewards etc. This is the "cost of sale" and companies need to understand that this requires investment and time The importance of the last mile. How do you actually make a great idea work in practice? e.g. yes AI can advise on the best price to use for markdowns, but that's useless if you can't update the price on the shelf There are real costs to consider, whether they are financial (cloud consumption) or sustainability (the energy consumption of the model you are using). And it can be hard to scope those costs before you begin. So, know what it is that you're trying to achieve, use the model that is appropriate for that use case (i.e. probably a smaller one), start small and iterate We're in the hype cycle, and there is a danger of heading into the trough of disillusionment. Trust is a real issue - and consider that even if you haven't "turned on AI" then there is a strong possibility that people are using it in your organisation anyway, with zero governance or guard rails. Make it clear what you're doing and what the timelines are, and what the company guidance is, so people know what the expectations are. Orb (#uncorrelated) raised $25M to continue building their pricing and billing platform that lets companies automate a range of different billing modes e.g., usage-based, subscriptions, or a mix, marry analytics and billing, collect and meter product usage data, invoice customers, generate revenue reports, draw on product usage insights to find revenue opportunities, model out alternative pricing plans (thus enabling experimentation), orchestrate changes in real time, schedule future price changes for certain customer cohorts or contract renewals, directly embed draft invoices into product billing portals, surface past-due invoices, and recover failed payments automatically. "Orb gives companies a single source of truth that can connect every unit of product usage to revenue.
