Great points !! The dynamics of selling a SaaS business, especially to Private Equity (PE), can be complex and emotionally challenging. When considering this path, founders need to evaluate their role, ownership, and influence in the company post-sale. Here’s my take: 1️⃣ If you’re the **majority holder** and believe in the business’s future, continue as CEO to maintain influence and control over the direction. Retain enough "skin in the game" to drive results and keep a hand on the wheel. 2️⃣ If you’re a **minority holder**, with a new PE-appointed CEO, it may be wiser to take a substantial payout and invest in a new venture. In this situation, you often lose decision-making power, risking becoming a spectator in a company you helped build. 🔑 **What’s crucial?** If you still have meaningful equity, you should have a say in the direction. When you’re not in the driver’s seat, it’s often better to start fresh, investing your energy and passion into something new where you’re not just "cheering from the sidelines." What’s going on with the food and beverage tech industry? 🍔 Over the past decade, MAGNiTT has seen a increase in VC investment for F&B startups. However, the momentum slowed after mid-2022. Fast forward to H1 2024, and there's cautious optimism in the air. Early signs of recovery are showing, with 33 deals totaling $84M. Grubtech’s $15M raise and Anabolic's $9M seed funding from the MENA region are two of the standout investments leading the way. 🥙 Local investors are playing a pivotal role, contributing to 79% of all investments in the MENA F&B space since 2010. While international players like 500 Global made early waves—becoming the first to back an F&B startup in 2016—their activity has since declined. So. My head is exploding with info of planned Wellybucks, Inc. launch. But I'm holding back as not ready with deets yet. One comment on this article though that hits home with me and what comes next. With anything new food and healthy and wellness. And especially if you're trying to reach those employees hardest to reach. We've been leading with the same "this is healthy, this isn't " narrative for decades. Two thoughts. First. Don't lead with what not to do. Lead with alternatives. Some items have chemicals or ingredients that aren't ideal. Lead with simple swaps. Ways to do what people do now just better. It's why I like this initiative by Walmart. Don't lead with don't buy soda. Or "we won't give employee wellness grocery stipends to cover soda". Do you know how many people buy soda? How many of your employees? How many families of your senior leadership team that's deciding on your company programs? Lead with, " so, you like soda- okay. have you considered OLIPOP PBC Culture Pop Soda Zevia poppi " it's about getting people into the tent to start thinking about their choices. Second. And related. Most employer and health plan food related perks and programs see anything in a package, wrapper, jar, or box as the third rail and taboo to encourage or accept as far as what's healthy. I'd go so far as to say most programs are afraid to address employee spending on #cpg items. Talk more when talk but you can't help people today with this attitude. It's a "safe" space but not helpful. Not practical. 60% or more of people's calories come from such. Look at what areas take up most of a big grocery store. Look at carts. There's never been better grocery alternatives in store yet things have never been more confusing for people. Help them with produce and help them navigate the difference between something in a package and what's ultra processed. As to lump it all together isn't correct and is misleading. And given much chronic disease can be traced back to a regular lack of produce and too much consumption of cheap ultra processed foods. Need a think on this.

Great article on the founder-investor relationship—one that’s so critical to the success of any venture.
