GovXS is officially participating in Optimism Foundation Governance Round 6! 🥳🔥
Badgeholders, experts, and guest voters: Check out the team's application now - we'd appreciate your support: https://buff.ly/3YiU7kO
/ A quick rewind to the beginning GovXS was selected by Optimism in June 2024 to complete Mission Request #188 – Evaluating Voting Design Tradeoffs for Retro Funding. https://buff.ly/4c4EylC
/ Since then, the team has gone beyond the Mission Request’s scope to analyze actual Optimism Retro Funding voting designs and improve governance performance by proposing new, strategyproof voting rules.
/ Deliverable 1: Voting Design Mathematical Specifications GovXS derived the formal specification of the exact voting rules applied in Optimism’s Retro Funding Rounds 1–4 to allow for rigorous, axiomatic analysis.
/ Deliverable 2: Voting Design Evaluation Framework The team created a 360° Evaluation Framework based on Optimism RetroFunding objectives to support the Collective to select the best designs for each round’s scope while ensuring strong and reliable voting outcomes that attract the best projects and voters long-term.
/ Deliverable 3: Voting Design Evaluation Metrics GovXS developed metrics and KPIs to rigorously verify voting designs against Optimism Retro Funding objectives, applying theoretical, axiomatic analysis and agent-based simulations.
/ Deliverable 4: Testing and Verification of Optimism’s R1–4 Voting Rules Here, GovXS verified if R1–4 voting rules satisfied Incentive Compatibility so voters could not improve their results by lying about their preferences.
/ Deliverable 5: Detection of Major Flaws in Optimism Retro Funding GovXS uncovered new, previously unknown risks to Retro Funding integrity: A) All previous voting designs lack strategyproofness, B) Voters can improve results by lying about their preferences, C) Voter behavior analytics skewed, D) Further away from establishing impact=profit
/ Deliverable 6: 2 Strategyproof Solutions GovXS proposed two alternative voting designs to satisfy strategyproofness and meet Optimism Retro Funding’s design goals: Majoritarian Phantoms and non-normalized Median.
/ Meet the GovXS team behind these crucial insights! GovXS is team of 4 experts in social choice theory, modeling and simulations, and token engineering: A) Dr. Nimrod Talmon, Assistant Professor, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, B) Angela Kreitenweis, Founder, TE Academy, C) Eyal Nek-Briman PhD Candidate, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, D) Muhammad Idrees, Protocol Engineer, Stateless Solutions
/ The impact presented in GovXS's Retro Funding Round 6 application is undeniable, bringing fresh insights to the Optimism Retro Funding program. These discoveries empower badgeholders, experts, guest voters, projects, and the entire Superchain ecosystem to realize the vision of “Impact=Profit.” We'd appreciate your support! https://buff.ly/3YiU7kO
