What are effective feedback methods for LD trainees?
Be genuine and yourself. Acronyms are great for your development but not for the receiver of feedback. Put yourself in their perspective and imagine if someone came across scripted like a feedback model they may know as well. Today to differentiate because many people communicate feedback but few connect and inspire. Be situational in your approach and be flexible because the persons needs and emotional development and skill development changes as fast as your development. Every single person has unique and different ways of seeing the world and their paradigm. Always be brief, brilliant (find something they are brilliant at) and direct.

Personal Growth: Increased self-awareness: Feedback, especially constructive criticism, can highlight blind spots and areas for improvement. This can lead to a deeper understanding of your strengths and weaknesses, fostering self-growth and development. Enhanced emotional regulation: By understanding how your emotions impact your performance and interactions, you can learn to manage them more effectively. Feedback can serve as a mirror, helping you identify triggers and develop coping mechanisms. Improved resilience: Receiving feedback, even challenging ones, can build resilience. When you learn to process it constructively and use it for growth, you become less susceptible to negativity and develop confidence.

What are effective feedback methods for LD trainees?
Balancing conversational candor with consideration or curiosity is the connection that makes feedback effective and inspiring. Listening and seeking to see things from their perspective allows you to have empathy and the ability to match the conversational feedback with their emotional development. Be flexible in your approach as different people have different needs. Be brief. Be willing to be a lifelong student and chief feedforward officer -because when done with the right style and right person - it always produces better results. Practice the 90,000 hour rule by catching people doing things right and practice candor that’s specific.

Rudy wanted to find the most inspirational and motivational players in America who best defined what he refers to as "The Four C's": Character, Courage, Contribution & Commitment.
The College Football Rudy Awards were launched in 2007. During the first year, 26 coaches nominated the ‘Rudy’ on their team. The inaugural award was presented to Terry Clayton of the University of Kentucky. A senior linebacker, Clayton lost his hearing at the age of five. He persevered as a walk on for the Kentucky football team and twice was named to the Southeast Conference Academic Honor Roll.
In 2008 the number of nominees more than doubled to 53, resulting in outstanding nominations including finalists Drew Combs (winner, pictured above), Dan Cafaro, and Nik Harris who was recently drafted by the Buffalo Bills.
Nominees will be chosen by our national selection committee consisting of such esteemed sports figures as June Junes and Chuck Knox (the Selection Committee). The selection process also incorporates a fan vote for supporters of the College Football Rudy Award (read the Awards Process FAQ).
