What metrics are used to evaluate e-commerce teams?
Data attribution from website traffic is key for measurement, and I’d recommend validating and mapping the entire flow of your lead generation funnel, including all the channels. “You can’t manage what you don’t measure” as they say, and sometimes poor decisions are made from mistakenly analyzed good data. Be certain the plumbing of your systems is accurately linked and tracked for lead attribution, and test your team’s confidence of them - continually.

What metrics are used to evaluate e-commerce teams?
“Success” is dependent on the company stage. And while NPS is very good, the somewhat inverse of this to assess product market fit (PMF) is to conduct a PMF Survey. Absent the time to meet and talk to hundreds of customers, just ask this simple one question survey: "How would you feel if you couldn't use the product anymore?" This is the question to ask to determine your level of PMF. In response, you are looking for at least 40% of your customer base who say they would be "very disappointed". It was started by the growth hacking pioneer Sean Ellis.

What metrics are used to evaluate e-commerce teams?
“Success” is dependent on what stage the company is. In the early stages of a company, and even through the growth stages, “Product Market Fit” (PMF) is essential to evaluate and continually optimize to ensure long term success. Product/market fit means being in a good market with a product that can satisfy that market. This concept was first proposed by Marc Andreesen, in his post “The Only Thing That Matters”. Many companies believe that since sales are rising, there is demand and the company will grow. But it can quickly become unsustainable growth because PMF isn’t a process within the company. Make sure your product team talks to as many customers as possible to answer the “WHY” they buy.
