As an accounting leader in a high volume, contract based SaaS company, I am all for the increased efficiency and accuracy this article references. It is easy to fear tools that on the surface seem to "replace" a person's responsibilities, but I have seen first hand what tools like this can do to enhance rather than replace! 💡Another interesting conversation with an AP leader about the 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗢 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴. Their pain point? A significant number of invoices couldn't be properly matched to POs at the line-item level, resulting in a flood of match exceptions. When I proposed an AI agent leveraging LLM and RAG, I faced some resistance. The client asked, "Why should AI match better than a simple matching algorithm?" and "It's just matching with reference data, why call it AI? What's the difference?" Why its time to really think over your operating model of running your Finance and accounting processes? The world was a different place to do business in before Covid- the current times are different. Companies who lost their credit reputation, are not able to recoup even after 4 years of the pandemic. That means additional burden of interest costs, in times when the interest rates are higher even for companies with a good credit rating. One of the most obvious channels of trapped value is the Accounts Receivables. Probably the coolest corporate card solution I've found in years. RAMP is a full expense platform, spend management solution, and corporate card wrapped up in one. It integrates with email to automatically attach receipts and with Quickbooks to automatically register transactions. It supports physical and virtual cards for employees, and makes it possible to manage approvals and expenses in a time efficient and easy way. I've been really happy with our move to RAMP, especially because unlike other bill and expense management platforms, there is no monthly fee to use it.
