Are your sales comp models driving the right behaviors—or just draining your budget? CROs and Sales VPs face a tricky balancing act: incentivizing reps effectively while ensuring that compensation aligns with business goals. This is where a fractional RevOps partner can swoop in and design an effective sales rep commission and compensation model. A well-designed compensation model should: 1️⃣ Align with business objectives. Whether your focus is new customer acquisition or account growth, structure your incentives to drive those outcomes.  2️⃣ Keep it simple and transparent. Complex plans only confuse reps. Clear, straightforward models build trust and motivation.  3️⃣ Leverage data for capacity planning. Set achievable targets based on in-depth analysis to maximize performance.  4️⃣ Incorporate multiple metrics, not just revenue. Has anyone's #CRO or #SalesLeader ever set out to implement #SalesTraining to fix a problem? And then it's #RevOps and #RevenueEnablement's job to make it stick? How often have you heard this one? Numbers are down, we must need to train our teams! #SalesPeople, how many new methodologies have you been taught in your career? I can personally say at LEAST 10 different #SalesMethods and hundreds of sales training sessions! Maybe more, but some of those trainings I was probably asleep 💤. Also - let's not forget, the #ForgettingCurve means we will only remember less than 10% after 30 days if nothing is done to combat it! In this short clip from my session in NYC earlier this year at the Revenue Operations Alliance and Sales Enablement Collective summits, I tell a little story... maybe you can relate? Well have no fear, we CAN make your program stick! Want to make your #SalesTraining STICK??? Use the LIT framework! 💡L.I.T. is a framework 👉 L - Line it Up - Line up your process to your methodology or initiative! Set yourself up for clear instructions, great reporting and analytics. 👉 I - Initiative - this is in the center, your Product Launch, Methodology, #GTM. Plan for sustainability. 👉 T - Technology - #RevTech, Embed your programs into your #CRM, Call Intelligence, #Enablement tools - if you have these tools use them effectively. I have personally found that the above framework helps to combat the nasty forgetting curve, and truly embed the method, initiative, or principles to your day-to-day work-life! KARE profiling is a powerful strategy component in territory management that tags each of your prospects and clients with one of four designations. "K" for current clients you want to KEEP "A" for accounts you don't have but wish you could ATTAIN "R" for customers you used to have and now would like to RECAPTURE "E" for current accounts where you wish your "wallet share" could EXPAND There are two principles to follow here: Every "live" opportunity with whom you actually want to work has to go somewhere on this KARE model No opportunity can occupy two slots of the KARE quadrant. You have to pick one. These designations allow you and your team to segment and prioritize your targets. They also provide a base of understanding and clarity in team-selling environments. The KARE process also provides an invaluable sales management tool. Once you've identified the accounts that fit in each quadrant, you can identify the strategies you will implement in each of the quadrants.
