🆕 Premiere of the Mobile Satellite ISR Reconnaissance Platform at the MSPO ❕ 👉 The result of the collaboration established a year ago during the International Defence Industry Exhibition between the Polish Armaments Group #PGZ, ICEYE, and Military Communication Works No. 1 was showcased at this year's MSPO in Kielce. The Mobile Satellite ISR Reconnaissance Platform is one of the most advanced solutions in the world, enabling armed forces to make quick decisions based on real-time satellite data. 👉Military Communication Works No. 1 S.A. (WZŁ-1 S.A.), ICEYE Poland, the local branch of the global leader in Earth observation through radar satellites, and the Polish Armaments Group S.A. (PGZ S.A.) have jointly demonstrated the Mobile Satellite ISR Reconnaissance Platform (MPRS ISR), adapted to work with satellites equipped with Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and optical sensors. 👉The solution integrates communication and data transmission systems, user security, power supply, and a specially designed antenna system, ensuring fast data transmission and direct distribution to the appropriate recipients at any command level. The #drones are here to stay, despite the widespread disparity in the survey reports below, the optimism about their role continues. The initial euphoria about the delivery drones seems to have dampened a bit, it's just because of the regulations not getting eased as initially expected by the industry. Even though a lot of industry pundits might not agree, the tardier pace of growth in the commercial drone segment is actually a healthy sign, the developments in the #BVLOS capabilities have not yet been widely adopted, there are several vulnerabilities in that domain. The UTM/AAM/UAM segments of the ecosystem have so far relied on the co-operative, we have assumed that all the legit operations can continue on self compliance, which isn't the way forward. The BVLOS can thrive only after the infrastructure to monitor and manage the additional traffic in the lower airspace has been placed up there; the need to decongest and deconflict the aerial traffic precedes the deployment, it cannot be an after thought. One thing is certain that the skies above our heads are not going to remain the same again, the drones, air taxis and the general aviation is set to boom; doesn't really matter if it's sooner or later, all that matters is that it must evolve in a safe manner. #WALAT3M #SafeSkies

Today, the UK and Latvia have opened the bidding for companies to supply FPV drones to Ukraine, on behalf of the Drone Capability Coalition. This competition aims to produce these drones at scale and at an affordable price point, leveraging the strength of Western industry. Industry can find the details of how to apply via the Defence Sourcing Portal. This competition is open to industry from any nation in the Ukraine Defence Contact Group. Companies have until 28 June 2024 to submit their proposals, which will then be considered by the Drone Capability Coalition members and evaluated. Successful companies will receive orders to supply drones to Ukraine and, upon receipt of positive operational feedback, the intent is to place larger, follow up orders for FPV drones. Additional FPV competitions are expected to take place through 2024, building on the lessons learned from this first competition.

The State Corporation Roscosmos turned its attention to the "disruptive" space technology in 2017. An industry seminar was held to examine innovative projects. Astronautics pioneer Georgy Uspensky, deputy head of the complex of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise TsNIIMash, doctor of technical sciences, professor, summed up the results of the seminar: "The report, in essence, has a lasting significance, poses a very, very serious task for cosmonautics. Indeed, if we solve the problem of stopping cargo [on satellites and on the Moon] without spending reactive force, spending reactive energy, then this, of course, is a serious advance. We will, of course, have big gains in terms of economy and money. This is a fundamentally completely new approach, a new way of solving the problems of long-distance flights, and perhaps ground problems as well... And therefore it seems to me that this seminar should have a continuation. And this formulation of the task, it seems to me, is extremely important and is really the subject of the organization in which we are present"

Overseeing drone procurement and digitalisation: Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine sign memorandum of cooperation. The purpose of the memorandum is to accelerate the digital transformation of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine (ESBU) and strengthen the economic security of the state. The document provides for: - introduction of modern IT tools to improve the efficiency of the ESBU; - development of cooperation to prevent offences affecting the functioning of the state’s economy; - joining forces in monitoring the procurement of UAVs for the Defence Forces. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Ministry of Digital Transformation has been developing military technologies through projects such as Brave1, the Army of Drones, etc. “It is important for the Ministry of Digital Transformation to be transparent and accountable in every project. Especially in the area of public procurement. Joining forces with the Economic Security Bureau in monitoring the procurement process will help to proactively respond to and prevent possible offences. We already have experience of positive cooperation in this area. The ESBU will also join the monitoring of grants that Ukrainian manufacturers receive from the Brave1 cluster. Our goal is to be effective, transparent and reliable partners,” said Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development and Minister of Digital Transformation. The Ministry of Digital Transformation and the ESBU will also cooperate in monitoring procurement under the National Informatisation Programme. A separate track of cooperation is the introduction of modern IT tools to improve the efficiency of the Economic Security Bureau. As part of this, a Unified Information System for the ESBU will be created, which will enable it to more effectively prevent and investigate economic offences. The ESBU staff will have access to the most advanced digital solutions and innovations to increase their efficiency. “The experience of the Ministry of Digital Transformation in digitalisation and software implementation means new opportunities and tools for analysing information in the Bureau’s investigations, the use of which will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the ESBU’s efficiency,” said Serhii Perkhun, Acting Director of the Economic Security Bureau. Digitalisation of the Economic Security Bureau will not only increase the efficiency of the institution, but will also become an effective tool in the fight against corruption. Transparent, automated processes and modern IT tools minimise the influence of the human factor, which is one of the main causes of corruption. The introduction of digital solutions will allow for more efficient detection of violations and abuses, which will help to maintain the country’s economic stability.

The EUROPEAN DRONE FORUM 2025 hosted by UAV DACH - Association for Unmanned Aviation is still 8 months away, but preparations are already running for Europe's most important specialist conference on the #unmanned #aircraft systems industry. On February 17 and 18 #EDF25 will for the first time take place in Düsseldorf as part of XPONENTIAL Europe and also at the new venue the focus will once again be on identifying the main obstacles for the #UAS industry in a direct exchange between those who are responsible from the European regulatory authorities and representatives from the #drone economy. And, of course, to jointly discuss ways in which these can be cleared out of the way – perfectly in line with the claim of the EUROPEAN DRONE FORUM 2025: "Clearing obstacles to commercial UAS operations in Europe". With practical knowledge, fast innovation cycles and scalable battle proven solutions. But newcomers in NATO nations’ procurement and have a little resources. There are European defence companies. With years of knowledge in procurement and grants, backed by vast resources. However, they have little understanding on what is happening on actual battlefield, long in innovations and with impressive but low scalable tech. The question is: How to stop those splits and get the best of both worlds together?

Lithuanian defense innovator Unmanned Defense Systems secures €3.2M to advance UAV technology Unmanned Defense Systems (UDS), a Vilnius-based advanced swarm detection company, has raised €3.2 million to scale its battlefield-tested UAVs and enhance AI-driven swarm integrations with modern battlefield management systems. The funding round includes €1.1 million personally contributed by Vytenis J. Buzas, creator of Lithuania’s first satellite, and Ernestas Kalabuckas, “Lithuanian CTO of the Year 2022”. Coinvest Capital co-led the €1.6 million investment round, with a group of business angels and a syndicate of 41 private investors. The investment includes a fund’s share of €0.9 million.
