Inspired by the Indian knowledge and value system, Vediic offers a fresh and engaging gaming experience. #BoardGame #StrategyGame #Vediic Vediic is a strategic board game for 2-7 players that masterfully blends materialism with spirituality. It features elements of both competition cooperation. Players traverse the paths of the board, vying to strategically align with wandering planets. These planets shift from one house to another, usually triggering the activation of pawn positions and dispensing positive rewards through benefit cards that propel players forward. However, when planets transition into retrograde, their influences turn negative, impeding player progress and necessitating strategic maneuvers to avoid setbacks. The primary goal of the game is to skillfully navigate these celestial dynamics to accrue material gains in the form of benefit cards and make strategic donations, thereby earning enlightenment points. 🎯 The Art of Investor Outreach and Follow-ups Fundraising is a lot like sales—if you don’t ask, the answer is already no. But many founders make the mistake of self-rejecting before they even reach out to investors. I’ve seen it happen: we assume an investor won’t be interested, and we miss opportunities that could have opened doors. Here’s what I’ve learned from experience: sometimes, all it takes is one cold email to get the ball rolling. Even if you think an investor is “too big” or “not a fit,” reach out anyway—you might be surprised. Here are a few things which have worked out for outreach and follow-ups: 1. Keep Cold Emails Short and Specific: Busy investors don’t have time for long emails. Focus on a hook (problem/solution), traction, and why you’re reaching out to them specifically. Example: “We’ve grown 150% over the last quarter, solving X problem for Y audience. I believe you’d be the perfect investor to help us scale. Can we get on a call next week for 30 mins?” 2. Handle Rejections with Grace: Not every investor will say yes—but every rejection is a chance to build a relationship. Thank them, ask for feedback, and keep them updated with your progress. You never know when a “no” might turn into a “yes” later. 3. Follow Up (Politely, but Persistently): Silence is not a rejection. Investors get swamped. If you don’t hear back, follow up in a week or two. The goal? Get a yes or no. Leaving threads open only wastes time. 4. Track Your Outreach: Treat it like a funnel - track who you’ve reached out to, when, and what stage the conversation is in. This helps you stay organized and spot follow-up opportunities. (There are a lot of free CRMs available, which could be a good starting point). 💡 Pro tip: The right investor will appreciate your persistence. Fundraising isn’t just about finding capital—it’s about finding partners who believe in your vision. Here's my two cents takeaway from the contrast between ride-hailing players like Uber/Ola and #NammaYatri. While #Uber and #Ola have often leaned towards ambiguity in their offerings (not showing the riders whether the #cab would allow for the AC to be turned On or Not) - I guess to likely avoid deterring customers or impacting their brand image - Namma Yatri has taken the transparent approach. How? Namma Yatri clearly distinguishes between AC and non-AC cabs on its platform, giving #customers the chance to make an informed choice upfront. This move though seemingly small is a refreshing change from the lack of clarity that has sometimes plagued the larger players in the space.  Note: Having the AC on in cabs not defined as "AC cabs" would mean the cost is passed on to the drivers, thereby lowering their margin. Whereas cabs marked "AC Cabs" are slightly more expensive with no room for ambiguity.  This article highlights how Namma Yatri, by being upfront about their offerings,  empowers customers to make the best decision for their needs, rather than trying to obscure the details. This emphasis on transparency is a smart strategic move --also, you would see less fights over AC between drivers and riders! P.S. this in no way defines which service is better overall; just a spotlight on a feature that seems to be making life easier for both riders and #drivers. Enterprises are all-in on AI, with proprietary solutions, on-prem deployments, and outcome-based pricing becoming the new normal. 3. Robotics and AI are merging, transforming automation, especially in areas like agritech and healthcare innovation. 4. Creators are supercharged with AI tools, producing hyper-local and commoditized content. But authenticity remains the key to building lasting connections. 5. Access is a double-edged sword—AI democratizes tools, but affordability and infrastructure gaps risk leaving many behind. My views on what lies ahead in 2025? 1. Starting up will be easier AND harder—AI will level the playing field but intensify competition. 2. Enterprises will embrace Outcome-as-a-Service models, changing how value is delivered. 3. This year, I discovered something incredible—vision boards! It all started when our Head of Engineering, Swaminathan Balasubramanian’s daughter, created one and spoke to us about its power. Vision boards are a collection of images that relate to your goals, helping you visualize and manifest them. Honestly, I didn’t know how transformative they could be until I made my own. The biggest goal I set this year was to establish strong outbound sales and customer success teams; I have been trying to achieve this goal since 2018. This vision has genuinely manifested itself with Elizabeth Egan, Andrew Cox, Fred, and Greta Moen on board! This means we now have a new customer acquisition channel that hadn’t existed for CallHub for the past decade! For the first time, we can push for and get more customers to use the product and sign large contracts because the vision has become a reality. CallHub is better equipped than ever to make our customer’s journey more fruitful with the new customer success team. As we approach the end of 2024, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what you want to achieve in 2025. What’s on your board? A stronger team? New goals? Expansion? Whatever it is, put it out there! Visualizing your goals can create energy and focus that can be game-changing. I’ve seen it happen firsthand this year.

I participated in a “SMART MANUFACTURING” panel with Gayathri Radhakrishnan, Rohini Chakravarthy and Abhijit Supekar (moderator) last week at TIECon 2024. The coolest part of the panel was 3 Women VCs talking about a topic that has not traditionally been discussed by women. I never imagined I’d see this in my lifetime. Things have indeed changed! We had a very lively discussion of whether we can expect lights out factory in 5-10 years. Automation is happening in all stages but full automation manufacturing is tough because it requires human like adaptability. It is not converting text into instruction or code - it is about precision. Robotics + AI is making this happen and we will get there. AI is going to bring the cost down for complete solution for example: there are robotic arms that can do more tasks and learn like a human and not just some specific tasks.
