Ted Lasso could be the best Scrum Master in the World! Apple TV's Ted Lasso gained millions of fans when we got introduced to the lovable, patient, wise and charasmatic football coach main character, Ted Lasso. After binge watching the show; I realised that Ted Lasso's personality and lessons he used in the show could be a benchmark for how a Scrum Master should behave and coach their teams... Stance #1 Chief Inspiration Officer: Scrum teams work best when they are passionate and inspired. Unfortunately, Developers sometimes feel disconnected from the impact of the work they are doing. They are unable to see the consequences the increment is having on the lives of their users, which can create disengaged or demotivated order-takers who may be doing what they are told—no more, no less. An effective Product Owner must be able to inspire Developers towards a greater purpose that aligns with their personal purpose. I really loved this one. Just because they use some of the terminology does not mean that they are using #Scrum . To start with, you may want to back up and find out why the team chose #Scrum and what #challenges they thought Scrum would help with before you joined, and bring transparency to what is still missing in this #ZombieScrum way of working. A good servant leader will help the team get to the "why" behind the elements of Scrum. What Scrum means, thereby inhibiting empiricism in other, more genuinely #complex work The success a #waterfall model has apparently brought in this non-complex and relatively predictive situation 👉  The point of Scrum isn't just doing Scrum, it is to deliver value to your customers.
