The industry needs to do more testing, at faster speeds, while reducing the Total Cost of Ownership. Demonstrating the “Intelligent Network Sandbox” the latest industry proof-of-concept. INS simplifies, automates and optimizes the end-to-end test process across diverse workloads, tools and environments. The solution leverages an AI-enabled no-code platform to streamline onboarding, contextually recommend test job placements for cost and efficiency, provide zero-touch provisioning for distributed deployments, and orchestrate parallelized testing. INS includes a registry of workloads, test tools, tests, target environments and orchestrators. Workloads and tests can be declaratively composed and dynamically configured as Test Jobs. This acts as a meta-scheduler to identify applicable and available environments and ranks them based on current price and estimated total cost to run the job. The environment can be manually or automatically selected, and the platform will automate deployment of the workload and corresponding tests. The platform monitors test job execution progress and manages parallelized tests over ephemeral resources, including moving and restarting tests based on last known state.

imagine each #enterprise having their own #virtualcloud above all the #hyperscaler #clouds - some call it an Internal Developer Platform ( #IDP ) - Upbound is about to unveil some groundbreaking enhancements...this can probably only work if it's based on the #Kubernetes ecosystem, with the support of the hyperscalers, Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), a big community (11k members now) and major #technology companies (+hundreds now). I love #investing in #extraordinary #founders!

Last week I did a presentation on "Cloud-Native Orchestration for Distributed Edge Intelligence” at the Data Innovation Summit in Stockholm, Sweden. I also manned a demo station in a booth with Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group and NVIDIA. Here are two reflections from talking about edge AI on the DIS show floor for two days. Most Nordic enterprises are still trying to wrap their heads around AI and what gains they can expect. A strong indicator of this was the high percentage of “AI consultants” roaming the show floor looking for new and interesting tools and potential customers. There seems to be an insatiable need for basic learning including guided exploration and trials. The basic sentiment was that much of the current investments in AI are defensive, think PoCs and platform trials. Organizations are currently building the competence and basic insights needed to make bigger bets down the line. A significant part of applied AI among industrial companies is moving to the edge or is being invented at the edge. I heard about numerous applications in computer vision, anomaly detection, and preventive maintenance that only work at the edge. Both because they consume enormous amounts of data that is too expensive to backhaul to the cloud, and because they need to work even in the face of upstream infrastructure issues. Both observations point toward putting investments into a platform-like infrastructure that provides a flexible and cost-effective way of experimenting with edge computing combined with AI and ensuring that the infrastructure is built with robustness and survivability at its core. I recently enjoyed discussing #largevisionmodels (LVMs) with LandingAI CEO Andrew Ng and CNBC's Jon Fortt. #PureStorage made a strategic investment in LandingAI to help power the future of vision AI. I appreciated Andrew's insights on the importance of company leadership in identifying and deciding which projects to execute. Improving the state-of-the-art in large vision models and advancing artificial intelligence will be an exciting journey. We are about ready for the first release of our open source vCon server.  Before we release, I am looking for a few additional alpha test volunteers.  Our vCon server provides the following features: * Store, retrieve, modify and delete vCons * Perform operations on one or more vCons using a pluggable framework of vCon processors * Run a single vCon processor via a RESTful API, using provided or stored vCons * Group a sequence of vCon operations (vCon processors to execute) and associated configuration into a Pipeline definition * Run a vCon pipeline, via a RESTful API, using provide or stored vCons * Queue vCon jobs for the pipeline server to run through vCon pipelines * Administer and monitor the server and configuration via an Admin RESTful API Testing involves setting up two Docker containers, installing Python packages and using some RESTful APIs. Direct message me if you are interested in being an alpha tester.
