This spring at The Montgomery Summit I shared a great conversation with MONTY TV’s Jacki Karsh, discussing how #AI is reshaping #enterprise tech from the ground up, the importance of building #trust through regulation, and my advice to aspiring entrepreneurs. I often say Uniphore is an overnight success, 16 years in the making. As #leaders during the era of AI, we need to be rigid in our goals but remain flexible on the path to get there. With a focus on enterprise AI from the beginning, we’ve been able to balance #agility with steady #partnership as our customers navigate today’s constant change. #enterpriseAI https://bit.ly/4bGO8vf

Sonata Software recently invited me to contribute at their "Building a #Resilient Workforce: Strategies for Success" event. This was a panel discussion anchored by the effervescent and impactful Shubhra Singh and my co-panelists were their CDO Suresh HP and their Head of Corporate Development Sharmila Sherikar, both exceptionally well-read and articulate leaders. With Co-travellers so named, challenge number one was not even the topic, it was getting my tongue to navigate the "S" and "Sh" sound when my geographical ethnicity does not allow for it :-) On to the topic at hand. Shubhra moderated the session extremely well with her forceful and well-directed questions making us better panelists in the process. The first question that defined the boundaries of our conversation was "Why do we need a resilient workforce?" To me, resilience is fundamentally our ability to #navigate through and bounce back from adversity. Organizations that don't anticipate adversity can perhaps do without a resilient workforce. In a world in the middle of a #climatecrisis, chasing some 17 sustainable development goals, facing an existential #AI opportunity, and growing to 10 billion people, addressing adversity is how we will progress into a very challenging future. The next question allowed us to define resilience for the 300 strong audience. How does collaborative and cross-functional teamwork contribute to resilience of individual employees. How do leaders contribute to a culture of resilience? Resilience has two core ingredients: #Strength and #Elasticity. Strength comes from the individual and the community. The strength of the community is what prevents a culture from turning toxic. Hence, I would say cross functional / collaborative teamwork is the absolute essence of resilience. Elasticity is the ability to stretch which comes from both the individual and the organisation as well as from a strong sense of purpose they carry. The difference between #toxicworkplaces and purpose driven workplaces is that the latter stretch people to their elastic limits but no more. Leaders fashion #purpose on the fertile soil of #culture. I believe that there are two extremes of #culture that leaders navigate - a sharp elbowed culture and a warm chested culture. They also navigate two extremes of purpose - the ambiguous and the ambitious. The intersection of warm chested as well as ambitious culture is where breakthrough #innovation thrives. Similarly, warm chested and ambiguous tends to give us a Don Quixotic organisation...quite well meaning but essentially useless. [Covering the entire discussion is best left for another day.] However, this forced me to dig deep and seriously introspect as a Founder to find answers and I am grateful to team Sonata for listening-in and to Rashmi Prabha, Balaji Kumar and Samir Dhir for having me over.

Gen AI views from Gen Alpha We were still wrapping our heads around Gen Z, and now comes the Gen Alphas? So, who exactly are Gen Alphas? They’re those borne from 2010 onwards - the same year Instagram was borne, the Ipad made its debut, and Netflix went global. How this digitally native generation, estimated to be 2 Billion strong (about 25% of global population) is taking on the advent of technology? What will future of work look like when this generation enters the workforce? (Fun Fact : about 2/3rd of Gen Alphas will work in jobs that don’t even exist yet) For answers, watch the Spotlight talk of my daughter Kashish Jain, a Gen Alpha, at the GCC X summit organized by 3AI. And for questions about how parenting will look for this generation? That is for us, as parents to figure out. And rightly so Gen AI can’t and shouldn't provide that answer.

As per Stanton Jones at the recently concluded NASSCOM Conclave Global capability centers (GCCs) that are not highly specialized – or have not achieved scale – will likely see headwinds over the next two years as macroeconomic conditions change and AI evolves. What are your thoughts? Very insightful and forward thinking article: https://lnkd.in/gfS8fayb

Unfortunately, my inference about the “third winter” of AI is receiving more and more elements that confirm it rather than refute it. We are being influenced by massive marketing campaigns to believe that AI brings productivity in a fluid and easy way. And that it is a technology that will help promote ESG concepts. What is presented as reality is the opposite. On the E side, we see more predatory mining to meet the demand for rare metals. A new agenda resurrecting nuclear energy (see Three Mile Island) and using natural resources as cooling water without control. On the S side, we are investing billions of dollars in a proposal to increase global productivity that would improve prosperity for all, but even Nobel laureate Acemoglu has already warned about the discrepancies in the theoretical calculation of this gain - in some discussions he speaks of ~0.5% while some investment banks and analysis houses speak of ~10%. This savings will be lacking in the future and the most affected side, I have no doubt, will be projects linked to social responsibility. Finally, for G, we see the imminent risk of corporate information being shared without due control because it is used to train models. Disrespect for individual privacy and general data privacy regulations. In short, we still have time to think critically and try to mitigate the effects and once again have a “winter” that will postpone the intelligent use of technology to produce prosperity, not only for big tech and its executives, but for everyone.

It was intriguing to be part of a roundtable discussion today in association with #Nasscom on the topic 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐈 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬: 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. It’s great hearing from Industry experts & business leaders on their AI adoption experiences. Hari Atmakuri Ashok Kumar Jha, Gowrishankar Chagantipati, Rohini Ramakrishnappa, Kiran Chandaka, Chinni Krishna Chikatimarla, Harish Sureddy Amol Gupta It was wonderfully moderated by Ankit Bose covering various areas such as Predictive AI, GenAI, Ethical aspects, business impact and security considerations. We delved into a range of topics on AI, exploring its diverse applications across different industries, critical guardrails and impact on sustainability. Some key learnings from the roundtable: 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: AI is being rapidly adopted across various industries, driving innovation and efficiency. Some of the uses cases are around Administration Overhead reduction such as Clinical Notes summarization, Hazard & Risk Analysis, Realtime Marketing & Sales promotions, Fraud Detection, Summarizing shareholder reports, etc. 𝐄𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐈: It’s importance of designing AI systems that can appropriately respond to adverse situations, emphasizing the need for ethical considerations in AI development. Need for Ethical AI counsel and governance needed. 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐈 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐈: Gateways needed to decide when to implement traditional AI versus Gen AI. How AI can be used for GenAI. Planning for adversarial training and drive explainable AI. 𝐔𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬: One of the critical challenges is to standardize AI applications to provide consistent experiences and avoid working in silos. The consensus is clear that any AI adoption needs to have well-articulated benefits such as Cost, Efficiency, Agility & Risk Mitigation, etc. #AI #Nasscom #Business Innova Solutions Dr. Umesh Udayaprakash, Srinivas Yeluripaty, Arpita Dubey, Anil Nandivada Sreevani Chepuri Raghu Kumar Praveen Mokkapati Harshwardhan Kumar

I loved reading this recent report from my colleague, Natarajan Sankar, on Indian's electric 2-wheeler (E2W) market. "From a mere ~45k E2W units sold in FY 2021 it has grown to ~950k units in FY 2024." 176% average annual growth rates! BCG surveyed 2750 respondents across demographics and mobility contexts to bring a unique perspective. It makes me hopeful for the type of E2W uplift we might see in East Africa. https://lnkd.in/dhktmKYE

An insightful article Seshan. GenAI will become a catalytic force in healthcare, creating new opportunities and enabling providers to overcome challenges with resources and patient care quality. Over the years, technologies have evolved rapidly, reshaping diagnostic practices, patient engagement, and introducing new layers of efficiency. As is the case with any new technology, there are concerns around the lack of regulations, bias, data privacy, and security – all of which can be solved for with a strategic approach and the right kind of solutions that deliver value within the complex healthcare ecosystem. It will be interesting to see AI's transformative impact in the future of #healthcare. Do give this article a read. #ScaleAtSpeed

Proud moment for a father! Are we puzzled by the rapid advancement in AI and what it means for the future of work? How about hearing from Gen Alpha, those born after 2010, to understand how this digital-native generation is using and perceiving the impact of Generative AI. Are they excited? Are they concerned? Or are they as confused as we are? Proud to share that my daughter Kashish, a member of Gen Alpha is presenting views of Generation Alpha on Gen AI in 3AI GCCX Summit tomorrow. This might dispel your doubts, shed light on the future, and give you a glimpse into what your Gen Alpha kids might be experiencing. Swati Jain, PhD Sameer DhanrajaniKapil Gandhi

Would you rather have 100 Million Dollars or have the ability to influence 100 Million people? A question that I was asked at one of my #CEO interviews, which profoundly goes deep into the concept - #money vs #mindset I did well in the interview and landed the CEO role, but this question stayed with me for a while. I now ask this of young people who I either #mentor or who approach me for advice on career / life aspirations. You probably know my answer, what will be yours and why? I will share my answer in a few days. There are no right or wrong answers, however, the individual's thought process behind each answer is the driving factor for the response. #mindset #career #perspectives #values #money

The #ProfileEconomy introduces a revolutionary concept where individuals, past and present, can exist digitally through sophisticated #AI technology, enabling them to interact in real-time across multiple platforms simultaneously. This evolution democratizes access to knowledge, allowing people to engage with experts, historical figures, and influencers without geographical or temporal limitations. By harnessing graph databases, natural language processing, and AI, Digital Humans can respond to questions, offer personalized advice, and facilitate real-time learning. While this offers exciting opportunities for education, healthcare, and beyond, it also presents ethical and regulatory challenges that must be addressed for responsible use.

A interesting article on the steady leadership of our CEO Mr. Sandeep Kalra and his steady hand in guiding our firm to new levels since his joining. People often ask me what is behind the Persistent growth story. Naturally the people and that starts at the top with a bold leader who challenges us each and everyday to make an impact. As the CEO his job is to push us to be at our best and I can say he does it with persistence, grace and clarity. Great article and a little insight on our company. https://lnkd.in/ekCaJE6u
