What are the top CAD software options for industrial design?
Beyond user-friendly interfaces, and commands, it boils down to what kind of hardware team you are on, as well as what part in the chain of development you find yourself interacting. If you’re on the front-end of innovation, software like Rhino is a good choice, because of its nearly limitless surfacing capabilities. If you’re further embedded into the chain alongside engineers, a software package like Solidworks will be more fitting. Most mechanical engineers will be working in solid parametric software when creating parts and assemblies. Part-to-part associations are an important and necessary connection, so Solidworks is a…solid choice. Others drive software needs like automotive with its G7 continuity requirements.

How do you develop your creative thinking and visualisation skills?
Creative Thinking and Visualization Techniques are two connected, but separate topics. Yes, divergent and convergent is part of the process of getting to new ideas, but HOW to think divergently should be outlined here. An example technique could be mind-mapping. This is where you connect topics that relate. The idea here is that the further you are away from your center main topic the more opportunities may arise to connect once seemingly unrelated subject together: convergent. So that’s an example for the first paragraph. Visualization techniques could include after work, or weekend skill building in a new 3d modeling software. I find that forcing your brain to visualize forms using varying steps/tools help to push thinking.

How do you generate diverse and creative concepts in a team setting?
It should also be noted that concepts don’t exist in a vacuum when placed in line with the family of existing products for an organization, unless the need states defined are in service of new product families. These might be driven by new technologies, changing societal norms, or other instruments such as sustainability. Additionally, in order to maintain brand recognition in the categories being brainstormed it is important to have a vector of product outcomes that have a through line of association. An example might go something like, coffee maker, combination coffee/espresso maker, then multi-beverage mixing unit. In this example they are all in the same vein and the product scope for each becomes gradually more complex in execution.

Item-Identifying Carts
Issued US 10,953,906
This patent relates to a “smart shopping cart” that is configured with a first camera directed toward a user pushing the cart for identifying the user or reading a user identifier from a device and four additional cameras pointed within the basket of the cart for identifying items placed into the cart. This patent relates to a “smart shopping cart” that is configured with a first camera directed toward a user pushing the cart for identifying the user or reading a user identifier from a device and four additional cameras pointed within the basket of the cart for identifying items placed into the cart. Optionally there may be a fifth camera on a hoop structure looking down into the cart. When a user of the cart scans an identifier (e.g., barcode) displayed on their phone using the first camera, the cart associates the shopping session with the user. Thereafter, the user may place items into the cart, upon which the cart will automatically recognize the items and add them to the user’s list of acquired items. The cart may also include a lighting element to notify an associate that assistance is needed, as well as other features, such as weight sensors to help the cart identify the items placed into the basket.

Coumpounding losses in large scale systems such as the friction coefficient loss due to long range transporation of fluids and gasses amount to staggering downstream waste. Through new applications from biomimicry, millions of years of intellegence is helping to solve this issue. The LFP system from Phi Logic captures a wealth of loss from standard friction induced piping systems through micro-turbulent buffering.

Phi Logic recognizes the importance of energy independence with the primary driver being rooted in generational thikning. If we are to design/build a just, verdent, and healthy population we must not only take stock of the present but extrapolate our actions into the future. Wind harnessing is but a single solution to the continuing global demand for energy. Our biomimetically inspired horizontal axis wind turbine has been designed to capture lower altitude micro-bursts of wind and store this energy in a micro-hybridized energy storage system by way of electrolysis; later to be used in an oxy-hydrogen burn for heat, or electricity. -
