Texas veterans with a 100% disability rating may be eligible for a variety of benefits, including: Property tax exemption Veterans with a 100% disability rating are exempt from all property taxes on their primary residence in Texas. Veterans with a disability rating of 70–100% may be eligible for a $12,000 exemption, while veterans with a rating of 50–69% may be eligible for a $10,000 exemption. To file for the exemption, veterans can complete the Application for Residence Homestead Exemption form and submit it to the appraisal district where the property is located. The deadline for filing is April 30, but veterans may be able to file up to five years after the delinquency date if certain conditions are met. VA medical benefits Veterans may have access to a large VA medical network, including free health care, prescription medications, and dental care. They may also be eligible for travel allowances to attend appointments at VA medical facilities or authorized health care facilities. Education benefits Veterans may be eligible for education benefits, such as the Hazelwood Act, which provides up to 150 credit hours of tuition exemption at Texas public institutions of higher education. Other benefits Veterans may also be eligible for vocational rehabilitation and employment assistance, a waiver of the VA funding fee for home loans, and a 10-point veteran preference in federal hiring #Texas #VAbenefits #V3T-TALK

Governor Landry convened a special legislative session focused on rebuilding our outdated tax system to further his efforts to grow Louisiana's economy. For LDEQ, the Governor’s proposed tax plan will a) facilitate the implementation of updated data and IT systems for entities and businesses applying for agency approvals; b) safeguard programs aimed at compliance and enforcement related to permits, certificates, and licenses from budget cuts; c) ensure consistent funding for initiatives that support water and wastewater infrastructure; and d) protect funding dedicated to addressing and remediating hazardous waste that result in soil and water contamination.
